Britain warns against a potential return to lockdown in England

UK government warned on Friday that a countrywide lockdown across England could be re-imposed to fight coronavirus, noting hospitalisation rates doubling every eight days.

“We want to stop a nationwide lockdown, but if we need to, we’re able to do it,” Secretary of Health Matt Hancock told ABIGAIL NEWS.

“We are prepared to do what it takes to protect lives as well as livelihoods,” he said, warning of further local steps to come after Friday’s restrictions were imposed on swathes of northeastern England.
