A Russian has admitted to being involved in the Tesla ransomware plot

A Russian man in the United States has admitted to plotting to extort money from Tesla, an electric car manufacturer.

Egor Igorevich Kriuchkov is accused of paying a worker $1 million (£721,000) to install ransomware on the company’s Nevada battery plant’s computer network.

Prosecutors claimed he intended to use the ransomware to steal company secrets in order to extort money.
On Thursday in Reno, Nevada, the 27-year-old entered a guilty plea.
